Throughout my time at TommyRun, my research showed that order fulfillment by our drivers was a major bottleneck. When customers placed an order, operations would send a text summary to the assigned driver who would then paste addresses and item information into a a third-party app. Order accuracy and communication suffered because the process was so manual. Our drivers also had no transparency into their performance and earnings throughout the week.
While I didn’t think I could solve every problem right away, I was eager to provide a solution that would make our drivers more efficient and increase customer accuracy and satisfaction. Our goal was to create TommyDriver, an app capable of tackling every aspect of order fulfillment including accuracy checkpoints such as product scanning, issue reporting, and proof of delivery.
Driver Profile
TommyDriver allows full transparency for our drivers. They can easily update their profile, view earnings, and request time-off.
Shopping Made Easy
My goal for the order fulfillment process was to remove friction by displaying routing, customer information, product specs, and order notes all on one page. Once the driver begins shopping, I removed the guess-work by adding product scanning to ensure they purchase the correct item.
Proof of Delivery
A key feature of TommyDriver is integrated photo capturing and real-time tracking. This allows operations to be fully in-the-know, and allows customers to be reassured that their order was delivered successfully.
